Ep. 09 Christina Patterson

Christina patterson | Beloved Women

Christina Patterson is a wife and mom with a passion to encourage women in the love of Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s Word. She holds her masters in Theology from Liberty University and is the founder of Beloved Women, a non-profit providing resources and community for women to truly know who they are in Christ: His Beloved.

Christina is the founder and director of Beloved Women.  Beloved Women exists to encourage, uplift, and equip women in the love of Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s Word. 1:16 Christina begins sharing her story. She wrote Mom Enough Devotional and Daughters of Fire. ” ‘As you grow in Me, the goal isn’t to become more independent’…. but to become more dependent on Him.” 7:50 [Speaking about Elijah] “God had to come down with His fire first for them to have that revelation. Sometimes I think we try to work our way up to God.  We try to light our own fire. He’s the one that really lights our fire for Him. He is the one that does it for us. The Bible says that we love God, because He first loved us.” 8:56 We begin talking about works based faith. “In our pride, we don’t really want to admit that [faith, not works saves us]. We want to say, there’s something I can do, because it’s disheartening to think I am in this sin sick state and I can’t do anything about it, if you don’t trust that God’s love, His grace and His power is enough to cover your sin.” “The works based faith just doesn’t work, because you still sin…” “Jesus has already done it [paid for our sin], so receive it and live free.” 13:13 Christina begins to share how her life changed once she embraced the grace of God. “I stopped looking at myself as much.  If you’re in this works based faith you’re constantly looking at yourself. What am I doing? Am I doing enough? Am I going to church enough? And really what we need to be doing is looking at God.” “Instead of doing what I think I should be doing, let me seek Him to do what He’s legitimately calling me to do today. And not putting Him in this box of, ‘Oh, I have to do this and that and that and that’ when God doesn’t want what we do, He wants who we are.  He wants our hearts.” 14:38 “My prayer every morning is that Holy Spirt would lead my actions, lead my attitude, lead my words and that I would trust Him with anything He doesn’t lead me to do. And so at the end of the day I can say, I didn’t get this done, but I prayed that the Lord would lead my actions today and if I didn’t get it done, maybe there is a reason why.” 18:55 We begin talking about Christina’s ministry, Beloved Women “The goal is to get women engaged in the Bible.” 4 R’s for studying God’s Word
  1. Read: Read the Scripture
  2. Reflect: Ask yourself what does this Scripture mean?
  3. Respond: How are you going to apply the Scripture t0 your life?  What did you learn that you can actually do.
  4. Request: Prayer. Pray over it for the power to live out what you have learned.
Life Bible Journal compliments the 4 R’s method. Our Daily Bread “We plant the seed, but God is the one who causes the growth.” “Everything that you do is by My grace and I need you to cling to Me every single day.”
